My fiancé and I are planning a very small wedding (just the two of us) at Loretto Chapel on
May 21, 2021. We plan to arrive on Thursday, May 20 around mid-afternoon. We would like to make an appointment to apply for a marriage license for May 21. Is it possible to obtain the license the same day as our wedding? Looking at the website it doesn't look like there is a waiting period. Also, we reviewed the COVID protocols on the County's website, but want to confirm that we can come in from Kansas City, Missouri and obtain the license. 50. Any information you can provide would be helpful!
A. Yes, you can obtain your marriage license on the same day that you get married. There
is no waiting period.
The whole process from start to finish takes about 10 minutes and you can get married
immediately. You do have to get your marriage license before the ceremony however, so I recommend that you plan ahead to make sure you have enough time and are not rushed. Loretto Chapel is not far away, maybe a 15 minute walk from our office and a five minute (or less) drive.
